Today until 3 p.m., 15 student organizations from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are working together with the Alliance for the Future of Agriculture in Nebraska (or A-FAN) to host an event on campus. Entitled the Husker Food Connection, the event is all about agricultural awareness in Nebraska.
Alissa Doerr, A-FAN intern, says today’s Husker Food Connection event is the first of its kind but they’re hoping to reach a large number of college students with the message about the importance of agriculture. Listen more here.
Even though UNL is in the heart of an ag state, there are many students who may not be aware about the impact agriculture has in Nebraska. Doerr says they’re trying to bridge the gap between city campus and ag campus.
Students who have an ag background will be on hand to mingle with those in attendance to let them know what their role is in agriculture. Listen as Doerr explains more about today’s activities.
